The Jets are making waves in the NFL Draft and it’s still more than a month away.
The team announced Saturday on Twitter they have acquired the No. 3 overall pick in the draft from the Colts.
New York and Indianapolis will swap No. 1 picks, as the Colts will now pick sixth, and the Jets will give up the 37th and 49th picks this season. In addition, they will give the Colts their second-round pick in 2019.
The assumption now is the Jets are trading up to take a quarterback. New York signed Josh McCown and Teddy Bridgewater in free agency, but both are on short deals. There are four quarterbacks who could go in the top 10 and the Jets were picking at No. 6, so there was a chance they could have missed out on at least two and possibly all four.
Dejounte Murray finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds for San Antonio.
Trail Blazers: Turner departed in the final minute with a cut along his right brow caused by an inadvertent blow by Murray on a rebound. . Jusuf Nurkic, who had 12 points and 12 rebounds, received a technical foul with 36.4 seconds left in the first half. Nurkic was yelling at official Curtis Blair for a foul assessed to him on a drive by Murray. … Maurice Harkless missed his seventh straight game with an injured left knee. … Ed Davis missed his fourth straight game due to an injured right ankle.
Suh was released March 14 by the Dolphins. The Rams, Saints and Titans were three teams he considered, reports say, after the Jets pulled their contract offer.
Suh was a three-time All-Pro in five seasons with the Lions before signing a six-year, $114 million contract with Miami in 2015. He had 15 1/2 sacks in three seasons with the Dolphins and has made just one Pro Bowl since 2014.
Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips now has Suh, Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers on the front line of an already stout 3-4 defense.
“We stopped getting stops. We were defending really well up until that point,” Magic forward Aaron Gordon said.
Terry, the savvy veteran guard, immediately gave the Bucks a spark by forcing a turnover on the inbounds play after Bledsoe’s two foul shots. Muhammad gave the Bucks a presence off the dribble to help make up for the absence of the free-wheeling Antetokounmpo.
